If That Isn\'t LoveBy John Price\n\n\n\"...His visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men.\"\nIs. 52:14\n\n\"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed\" Is. 53:5\n\n\nAbove any other time in history, much greater than any event on heaven or in earth, no moment has captured the attention of God than when His son laid down His life for us. No greater price could be paid than for an innocent lamb to die for sinful man. One moment in time is frozen here as our Savior is condemned to die as a lamb for me, and for you. With the cross on His back and the pain of a recent beating, He struggles to carry our burden ... a burden He\'s taken upon Himself out of such love for a sinful world. \n\nAll of heaven gathers around. The staircase unfolds as the angels, with swords drawn waitpatiently at attention. Their battle garb tightly secured, the first wave begins to surround the angry crowd. They punch and beat on Him with no remorse. A mother shields her child from the angered fray while others pass by, looking over their shoulder out of curiosity. A man gets his camel ready for a journey, unbeknownst to him that an army has the earth surrounded.\n\nChrist\'s own father looks down, and with a heavy heart, reaches out and picks the scene up. In His hands, He holds His punished Son while the rocks fall back to the earth along with His precious blood. With the finest war strategies ever imagined, the angels begin to move in for an attack ready to destroy the earth. Our Savior, naked and humiliated raises His arm towards the heavens to halt the attack. His blood gushes ... His skin hangs from His body, and because of His love for you and me, He held back our demise. The angels stay in place to honor His command, refraining themselves from wiping the human race from existence. If that isn\'t real love ... Godly love ... unconditional love.\n\nA poet once wrote: If we with ink the oceans filled, and was the skies of parchment made; If every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade. To write the love of God above would drain the oceans dry. And would the scroll contain the whole, it would stretch from sky to sky.\n\nWhat amazing love! What marvelous love! That He would have such love for a sinner such as I.\n\n\"Then said Jesus unto him ... Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He shall presently give Me more than twelve legions of angels.\" -- Matt. 26:52,53
