The Black Rose began as a short experimental digital film. The concept was to film a documentary about getting a tattoo and weave a fictional narrative into the tattoo documentary. In the end, the film was lost on a hard drive and I lost track of what happened to it since May of 2006.The original cut of The Black Rose was broken into three acts. The first being the tattoo documentary, the second the fictional narrative with Lauren, our model, and the third being a video-surreal television scene where the \"Tattooed\" David Shiriwasta was filmed passed out in front of a television, watching himself getting tattooed and Lauren posing by the water. These three acts were our commentary on television\'s portrayal of reality and fiction and how sometimes, we can dream ourselves on TV.\n\nSince the original cut was lost, I nearly gave up editing a second version because I lack access to Final Cut Pro or Avid systems. So I cut the film from 15 minutes to 3 minutes, and edited with the footage I have on Windows Movie Maker. There is other footage from this project that some of the other crew members have, but I think I had the most. \n\nSo here it is, three months-plus in the making, we present The Black Rose.
